DES Navinchandra Mehta Institute of Technology and Development (NMITD), is an AICTE and DTE Approved Institute affiliated to University of Mumbai. It has two post graduate programme of University of Mumbai namely – Master of Computer Application (MCA) and Master of Management Studies (MMS) NMITD belongs to the prestigious Deccan Education Society, Pune, which is in the field of academics since last 135 years having over 60 academic Institutes under its ambit.

DES NMITD has been recognized as a Research Center for Management studies, by the University of Mumbai. The Research Center will extend professional guidance and assistance to the research scholars in the area of Management Studies. The registered research scholar’s successful thesis, would be awarded the doctoral degree by University of Mumbai in Management studies.

DES NMITD, we have a focused research strategy and strongly believe that future research would be open source, influenced by technology. Through the “Sanshodhan” initiative, we have developed a research ecosystem which is resilient. DES NMITD believe that research and development capabilities of the Higher Education Institutions (HEI) would be of strategic advantage both for the teachers and the students.

M I	To imbibe research culture which is industry driven , with focus on business management and technology with an interdisciplinary approach for adapting in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous VUCA world.
M II	To partner with Industry and Local Organizations and Social Enterprises to understand their challenges and suggest indigenous solutions by developing researcher’s ability through various faculty development programmes, workshops and conferences and publishing high impact research publications.
M III	To sensitize the research scholars to ethical research philosophy and compliance free from plagiarism

Extending professional guidance and assistance to the research scholars in the area of Management Studies and Technology application
Organizing Annual National Conference (NCMAT) in Association with University of Mumbai and DES Kirti College of Arts, Science and Commerce and PTVA’s Institute of Management
Encouraging In- house faculty members to publish their work in National and International Journals of repute.
Furthering Joint publications and research work by students and faculty through an in house annual publication.
Advancing Joint research work by DES NMITD faculty with scholars from other institutions around the globe
Invite other research scholars to collaborate with the institute for research in various cross and inter-disciplinary areas
Conduct Faculty Development Programmes, Research Methodology Workshops for Research Scholars
Getting Access to the various softwares including SPSS, Plagairsim software which would assist the research scholars in bringing rigour and objectivity in their research
Establish linkages with AICTE and other Organization for accessing grants for various workshops, symposiums, and other research initiatives
